I bought this GPS to replace an old TomTom. I like its portability. My navigation experience has been spoiled by the wife’s Infiniti car system, so I was curious as to how good this could be for the price. The Garmin was bought to use in several other vehicles. I was very suprised by how well it worked. It grabs the satellites and sets up routes quickly. It is very accurate. The lane information is helpful for upcoming turns. This model doesn’t have the traffic input, but as I don’t live in a major city that function is useless to me anyway. The display is clear and easy to read. All in all I am quite happy with this model. A word of caution regarding operation. When intially setting up this device, FIRST install the software in your computer and follow instructions to connect your Garmin 1350. Three things will then properly happen. Your Garmin will be registered, properly activated, and it will be loaded with the very latest maps. Trying to take it out of the box and operate it will cause many of the problems I have heard people discuss. I highly recommend the friction mount. It stays on the dash nicely and allows you to postion the Garmin closer to you.
